How can I home school more than one child? I have 2 children that are school age and 2 that are preschool.Most importantly you need to understand that it can be done. It may seem like a huge task but others before you have accomplished it. First off you will need to be organized. Establish a routine and enlist the aid of others if possible. Many moms who have toddlers try to establish a regular time each week when someone else supervises their toddler. Do you have a grand parent, neighbor or other home school mom that can help? Others use Saturday to home school. If their spouse is not working, they can take responsibility for the little ones while you teach the main subjects that require your direct attention. Team up. If you have another mom in your area that home schools you can share some activities. For example, one of you could do music with all the older children, while the other mom takes care of the little ones. Establish a quiet area in your house for the school age children to work. Don’t expect them to sit in the middle of the kitchen and learn if there are little ones running around. |
